In its first episode, Babli from Chamba takes us through Sandhya Gupta’s dream journey who was the first girl to ride a cycle in her town Danapur (Bihar) and to do engineering and go abroad to study. Sandhya now runs an NGO, Aavishkaar, in Himachal that makes science and maths fun for kids in govt schools.
Babli, like Sandhya, is charting her own path to her dreams - she is also first in her village to finish higher education and become an educator for children beyond her village.
22yr old Savita Verma from Jhunjhunu inquires about challenges of everyday feminism from renowned feminist, Kamla Bhasin. She shares about her journey of being the only female from the community to have finished higher education.
Kamla Didi talks about ways to ensure our everyday fight for feminism is rooted in love and strongly recommends to not forget context of the people before arguing or fighting with them.
A bit different flavour to this conversation than the last one but so useful and powerful. Give it a listen :)
Gayatri Sharma is called "Pioneer woman" of Rakkad, a village in Himachal Pradesh. She was the first girl to learn driving a two-wheeler, refused to marry, decided to finish school ten years after dropping out from the school and eventually finish college and masters in India and US.
She shares fun and insightful things from her journey with Suraj Thapa, a fresh college graduate living in Yol, Himachal.
The conversation is heartwarming and full of practical tips to not give up on dreams!
