One day, women of Indian villages will be known
for their potential, not their pain
for their aspirations, not their needs
for being leaders, not being led
We will make it happen,
one Sapna Center at a time.
Sajhe began with a dream to change how the world recognises young rural women - not for their pain but their potential. Since 2020, with feedback from young rural women, we've innovated a program that truly helps them learn, earn and excel.
Sapnewaalis are alumna of Sajhe Sapne, women with fire in the belly! Filled with passion and hunger to learn, Sapnewaalis come from marginalized caste groups from Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, and Jharkhand etc.
Over 120 Sapnewaalis, between 18-24 years, are out in the world, delaying their marriages, making decisions in the family, breaking generational poverty cycles, managing their personal expenses and more.
On campus, you will often see Sapnewaalis learning to build their careers and dancing their way through the day.
We're all dreamers who make big, bold bets on the potential of young rural women.
Our diverse backgrounds help our big dreams soar.
